Legendary Singer and “Mouseketeer” Annette Funicello, passed away today at the age of 70.
Annette was best known as one of the original “Mouseketeers” on The Mickey Mouse Club back in 1955 on ABC. She also performed such hit songs including “Pineapple Princess”, “The Monkey’s Uncle” and one of my favorites, “Tall Paul”.
“Tall Paul” was named number 7 back in 1959 on the Billboard Hot 100 list. That song and “The Monkey’s Uncle” were both written by The Sherman Brothers. She sang with other artists including Tommy Kirk, Frankie Avalon and The Beach Boys.
Annette starred with Frankie Avalon in the Beach Party film series. She appeared on The Danny Thomas Show along with other various TV shows.
